X Hiring: A New Feature to Challenge LinkedIn

03 November 2023

At this time, Elon Musk has already announced that his goal is to convert Twitter, now X, into an all-in-one platform with a variety of features. For example, the ability to download videos or share articles was a more recent update.

With this context, the social network has now launched X Hiring, a new feature to add job listings and apply for positions directly inside the app. Let’s learn more!

What is X Hiring?

LinkedIn has found itself some competition as a leading social network for job listings and hiring. Elon Musk has announced X Hiring, a feature that will allow verified organization accounts to post job listings and organically reach millions of relevant candidates.

Through this function, which is still in its Beta version, those accounts that have verification will be able to add job listings to their profile. Inside this section, users will be able to view information such as the job title name, and the location of the position.

Also, if there are several position listings, X Hiring will allow you to scroll through them. Users will also have the option to click on the “View all jobs” call-to-action button to view all openings in the company. These offers and application information will be hosted on third-party websites.

X Hiring Features

The X hiring feature offers some key features that will help companies post jobs and track data of possible candidates.

  • Applicant Tracking Systems – ATS is a computer software program that manages the hiring process and has the ability to collect and sort resumes and track the progress of candidates throughout the process.
  • Only available to Verified users – This feature can only be accessible if you are a Premium X user which comes with a monthly fee of $1,000.
  • Search for Jobs – Candidates will be able to search keywords to find jobs they are looking for.
  • Apply directly through the app – Candidates can apply directly through the app by simply clicking on ‘apply’. If you are successful with the job, you can be contacted directly through the app as well.

How to Post Jobs to X?

If you want to give this a try, your next question is probably, how do I post my jobs to X? This is how:

As discussed above, you must be an X Premium user to be able to utilize this feature. If you have this qualification then you must apply to join the X Hiring beta. To do this, you will click here.

To post a job to X, you will fill in the fields requested by the social network: name of the organization, website, location, etc.

If you meet the requirements, you will be able to access this feature and start posting job offers!

As you can see in the screenshot above, these jobs will appear just below a users bio, with the “We’re Hiring” verbiage at the top. The job listing will show the position, and location. You can also click on the “View all jobs” to see all job listings.

This is another tactic that Elon Musk has put forth in his efforts to be the ‘everything app’ which he has discussed on multiple occasions that this is his ultimate goal for the future of X.

Many of his new features create competition for the other social platforms. This feature in particular sounds a lot like LinkedIn. Do you think X Hiring will be a real competition for LinkedIn? We would love to hear your thoughts!

Since you must be an X Premium to unlock this feature, click the button below to learn more about what X Premium entails:
