What Are Series on TikTok? TikTok’s Premium Content Subscriptions
Platforms like Instagram, X, Patreon, and TikTok have launched subscription options for creators to charge users for exclusive content. In March 2023, TikTok launched “Series” a paywall subscription for creators to share exclusive content with their followers.
TikTok’s monetization options incentivize creators to share authentic platforms and build engaging audiences to earn money. TikTok Series is an action to strengthen relationships between creators and their most loyal followers.
What Are Series on TikTok?
Series allow creators to share premium content, called “Collections” behind a paywall, and get paid for that content. Users can unlock the exclusive content by purchasing a Series on TikTok, shared from the creator’s direct-in-video links, profile, etc.
One Series can include up to 80 videos, each up to 20 minutes long. Like TikTok’s Creator Rewards Program, the platform encourages original, long-form content. Creators can set their prices “that best reflect the value of their content” from $1 to $190.
How to Join Series on TikTok
Eligible creators can join Series in the TikTok app or at www.tiktok.com/series.
- In the app, tap Profile, Menu, and then TikTok Studio. Click Series and follow the instructions to sign up. Creators must read and agree to the program terms and policies, and confirm their age to complete their application.
- On the desktop, confirm the agreements and click Continue. Follow the instructions to sign up, confirm your age, and agree to the program terms and policies.
