Content That Converts

Welcome to Module 4!

In Module 3, you figured out who you’re talking to, what your audience cares about, and how to find products that actually make sense for them. Being an affiliate isn’t about sharing your link as often as possible. The goal is to create content that people genuinely find useful, then make it easy for them to take the next step when a product or tool can help solve their problem.

In this module, you’ll learn how to create content that keeps working for you, where to place your affiliate links, and how to promote products without making every post feel like a sales pitch.

By the end of this module, you’ll be able to:

  • Understand the difference between evergreen and time-sensitive content
  • Know where and when to include your affiliate link
  • Promote products organically without constantly hard-selling
  • Create useful content that builds trust and drives affiliate conversions

Evergreen vs. Time-Sensitive Content

Not all content has the same shelf life.

Some posts can continue bringing you traffic and clicks months or even years after you publish them. Others are tied to a specific moment, trend, event, or promotion. Both can be valuable. The key is knowing when to use each.

Evergreen Content

Evergreen content stays relevant over time. It’s built around questions, problems, or topics that your audience is likely to care about again and again.

Examples include:

  • How-to guides
  • Tutorials
  • Product comparisons
  • “Best tools for…” lists
  • Tips and educational content
  • Step-by-step walkthroughs
  • FAQs

For example, a post like “How to Schedule Your Social Media Content” can continue attracting people who need help with social media scheduling long after you publish it.

If you recommend a tool like Metricool in that content, your affiliate link can continue generating clicks and conversions over time.

Time-Sensitive Content

Time-sensitive content is connected to something happening right now.

Examples include:

  • Trends
  • Product launches
  • Seasonal campaigns
  • Black Friday or holiday content
  • Industry news
  • Limited-time promotions
  • Viral topics

This type of content can generate a lot of attention quickly, but it usually has a shorter lifespan.

You don’t have to choose strictly between evergreen and time-sensitive content. Build a strong base of evergreen content that continues working for you over time, then sprinkle in a few time-sensitive pieces when there’s a relevant opportunity.

The goal is to make sure your affiliate strategy isn’t dependent on constantly chasing the next trend. Think evergreen first, timely when it makes sense.

Where Should You Place Your Affiliate Link?

There are plenty of places where you can include an affiliate link, and you don’t have to limit yourself to social media.

The best place for your link is wherever your audience is already looking for information, resources, or recommendations. Here are some of the most common places you can use your affiliate link:

  • Link-in-bio tools
  • Blog posts
  • Case studies
  • Facebook Groups
  • SMS campaigns
  • Notion pages
  • YouTube descriptions
  • Newsletters
  • Social media captions
  • 1:1 consulting resources
  • Podcast notes
  • Webinars
  • Pinned comments
  • Course materials
  • Digital products
  • Onboarding docs
  • Lead magnets
  • Networking events

The important thing isn’t to put your affiliate link in as many places as possible. It’s to put it in the right places.

Think about where your audience already goes for advice and recommendations, then make your affiliate link available there. When the link is connected to something genuinely useful, it feels less like an advertisement and more like a helpful next step.

And remember: you don’t have to create a completely new piece of content every time you want to share an affiliate link. A single useful recommendation can often be repurposed across your blog, newsletter, social media, videos, webinars, and other channels.

If you’re just getting started and don’t have a blog, newsletter, or established community yet, don’t worry. Start with a public platform where people can discover your content, even if they don’t follow you yet. TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube are all good places to start. As you grow, you can explore other channels and find more ways to share your affiliate links.

Promote Without Constantly Selling

Being an affiliate doesn’t mean you need to constantly tell your audience to buy something. In fact, repeatedly pushing your affiliate link can have the opposite effect. People are much more likely to act on a recommendation when it comes from content that is genuinely useful, relevant to them, and doesn’t feel like a sales pitch.

You can naturally introduce affiliate products as part of the solution. For example, you might:

  • Share a tool you genuinely use in a tutorial
  • Recommend a product while explaining how you solved a specific problem
  • Compare different products or services to help your audience choose
  • Include your favorite tools in a resource list or guide
  • Share your experience with a product and who you think it is best for
  • Mention relevant products when answering questions from your audience

The goal is to make your affiliate content feel like a recommendation, not a sales pitch. When your audience trusts your advice, they’re more likely to pay attention when you recommend something, and more likely to click when it is genuinely relevant to them. Create Content Faster

Some affiliates get burned out because they feel like they have to constantly create something new every time a product, feature, trend, or promotion comes along. But that’s not how it has to work.

There are plenty of ways to get more mileage out of content you’ve already created. Refresh an older post with a new headline, update a caption, change the angle of a recommendation, or turn the same idea into a different format. Small changes can give existing content a new life and help it reach people who may have missed it the first time.

You can also use AI tools to make content creation faster. Tools like ChatGPT and Claude can help you brainstorm ideas, rewrite headlines and captions, turn long-form content into social posts, or adapt content for different platforms. Many offer free versions as well.

If carousels are part of your content strategy, we’ve included a Claude Carousel Agent to help you create them faster. You can grab it with the other resources at the end of this module.

Just be sure you’re using these tools to make your content creation more efficient rather than replacing your own experience and voice.
