Pinterest Boards Get an AI-Powered Glow-Up
Pinterest, your go-to source for visual inspiration, seems to have a bit of a love-hate relationship with AI (don’t we all?). On one hand, a wave of AI-generated Pins has quietly crept into the platform. In response, Pinterest rolled out labels for AI-generated content and other tools to give users more control over the type of pins they want to see on their feeds.
But this time, the story shifts: Instead of limiting AI, Pinterest is using it to make your experience a little more personalized, and your boards a lot smarter.
What’s New with Pinterest Boards?
Pinterest has given its boards an AI-powered upgrade, which means that your boards will no longer be just static folders for saved Pins, but rather your personalized hubs for inspiration. It’s like your Pinterest boards are hopping on the Hogwarts Express, transforming from still, muggle images into magical boards full of motion. (Harry Potter fans will understand…)
With this update, your boards are getting a fresh new look and new tabs that adapt to the type of Pins you’ve saved. Now, your boards can recommend new ideas, help you shop, and even curate content based on your taste.
Here’s what’s rolling out:
- A “Make it yours” tab for fashion and select home decor boards, which suggests products and content.
- “All saves” tab: (just like it sounds) all your saved Pins in one place.
- “More ideas”: This tab shows you related Pins based on your board’s content. Ideal for beauty, recipes, DIY, and creative topics.
- “Styled for you” (US & Canada only): As part of a new experiment, Pinterest turns your saved fashion Pins into AI-powered collages.
- “Boards made for you” (coming soon to US & Canada): These are personalized boards curated using a mix of AI recommendations and editorial expertise. They’ll appear right in your home feed and inbox, serving up shoppable trends and weekly outfit inspiration.

You’ll start seeing these updates over the next few months globally, mostly in the US and Canada for now.
Today’s updates make boards into a personal shopping assistant, powered by AI, to help users move from admiring their dream styles or spaces to actively achieving them.
