Close Friends Feed Posts on Instagram
Instagram rolled out “close friends” feed posts. This feature will allow you to post content to a specific list of followers. A post on X made by Lia Haberman showed what the Instagram option looks like in the app. The screenshot of the new feature was taken by Jordan Shalhoub.
What is the Close Friends Feed Post on Instagram?
The “Close friends” option is not something new though. We saw this feature come to Instagram Stories in 2018. Second Instagram accounts and “finstas” were on the rise during this time. Finsta is like a private Instagram account users create to follow a smaller amount of people where they share exclusive content or content they do not feel comfortable sharing on their real account. So, Instagram saw the opportunity to make the app more accessible for those who want to be more private with friends and family. The app allows you to create a list of all the people that you want to see your exclusive content.
Now with feed posts being added to the mix, users will no longer have to hold back on the more “casual” and “unhinged” Instagram content. In addition, you can have a sense of comfort when posting that type of content. You will also be able to turn on this option whenever you want! Simply just toggle the “Close friends” button on or off before clicking post.
Close Friends Instagram Story
The close friend’s feature is available on the Instagram Story as well. This is the same as the feed posts but instead you choose a list of people that will be able to see your close friends exclusively on your story.
This has been found to be a good practice for engagement in stories. It makes people feel that they are part of an exclusive club of some sort. The bright green border around these types of stories also makes your content stand out above others, which is also an easy way to gain some more views!
This option is officially rolled out to all users! Be sure to give these features a try and let us know how they work for you!
