Text Overlays on Instagram Carousels
Carousels have become an extremely popular post format on Instagram. In fact, according to our most recent Instagram Study, we found that without taking into account Reels, the format in second place is carousels, which outperforms image posts in terms of both reach and interactions.
As features become popular, apps will often enhance them. This feature is no different. We heard through the social media news grapevine that Instagram is testing a new text overlay feature on Instagram carousels.
How Will The Text Overlay Feature Work
If this feature goes through, soon users will be able to add text to each photo. This new feature will definitely have the opportunity to enhance your carousels on Instagram. For example, your how-to content, your photo dumps, and more could now have an explanation of each photo.
All you will have to do is:
- Choose the photos you would like to include in your carousel post
- Choose your specific edits
- Then in the top right corner, you will see a text option
- Click on the text button and add text to each separate photo
