Grok is the in-house AI chatbot from X (formerly Twitter), developed by Elon Musk’s startup xAI – as an alternative to ChatGPT, Gemini & Co.

What is Grok?
AI is everywhere in 2025 – and X, as one of the most important social media platforms, naturally doesn’t want to be left behind. That’s why the xAI team developed this AI-powered chatbot in 2023, which is directly integrated into the X platform. Grok is also available as a standalone app.
Grok is based on its own language model (currently: Grok-3) and is continuously being developed further.

Grok is available via the X app, in the browser and as a separate app for iOS and Android – also in Europe (with data protection adjustments).

How can I use Grok?
