TikTok stickers
Similar to other platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok Stickers allow users to create and manage their own stickers, for direct messaging.
You can also share your creations on the TikTok Sticker store, which others can use to send in a direct message.

What are TikTok sticker sets?
Sticker sets are graphics made by the social network, that can be sent to friends and followers via direct message. As I mentioned, you can either create these sticker sets yourself, or choose from the sticker store.
In order to access these, you must be at least 18 years old, and of course, you need to follow the Communtiy Guidelines and Terms of Service set by TikTok.
How to create TikTok sticker sets
To create your TikTok Stickers, you will need to access this site and log in to your account through the desktop version.
From here:
- Click on Create new set or Create from the menu on the right-hand side.
- Choose if you want your sticker to be Static or Animated.
- Select the stickers you want to upload from your computer. If you chose the Animated option, you also need to upload a thumbnail image.
- After uploading your content, you need to name each individual sticker, using 16 characters or less.
- Click Next, to continue adding details such as name, cover image, and description for the set.
- Click Next again, and you will review TikTok’s Terms of Service and approve to copyright ownership.
- Click Submit for your sticker to be sent to review.
What content can you upload?
In each sticker set you can add up to 24 stickers, ANPG, GIF, WebP, PNG, and JPEG files, up to 3MB per file, and files within 1:1 ratio.
How to edit and delete your sticker sets
To manage your TikTok stickers, head to the Manage stickers set page and log in to your account.
Click on the Actions column and choose Edit, where you can make changes and send back your stickers for review.
To remove a sticker set from submission, click Withdraw under the Action column.
To delete a sticker set, click Delete under the Action column. These will be removed permanently.
You can manage, edit and re-submit your stickers at any time.
What are video stickers on TikTok?
Beyond images, you can also send video stickers in messages. These are users’ TikTok videos that have been converted into stickers and shared with the sticker store.
In order to create stickers and let others use your stickers, you must be at least 16 years old.
How to make a TikTok video sticker
To create a video sticker, you will need to head to the app for this process. In order for your videos to be converted into stickers, the sticker permissions need to be turned on Settings. More on this below.
To create a video sticker:
- Choose the video you want to convert into a sticker.
- Click on the Share button at the bottom right corner. If you’re choosing from your own video, tap the More options button.
- Click on Create sticker, and you have the option to add text and crop the video. When the sticker is to your liking, click on Next.
- In the next settings, you can turn on Add to sticker store, allowing other users to find and use your stickers.
- After clicking on Create Sticker the sticker will be added to the favorite tab inside direct messages.
You also have the option to create a video sticker in a direct message:
- Head to your Inbox inside the app and open up a direct message.
- Choose the Emoji button, then the Favorites button. Click on Create sticker and choose a video from the Liked, Posted, or Favorite tabs. Videos that have sticker permissions turned on will appear here.
- In the next option, you can edit the video by adding text or cropping the video. When the video is edited to your liking, choose Next.
- Turn on Add to sticker store, if you want other users to find and use your stickers.
- Click Create sticker and it will be added to your favorites, and ready to send in a direct message.
Managing TikTok video stickers
As I mentioned above, in order for stickers to appear on the discovery pages, the sticker permissions need to be turned on.
To allow users to use your stickers, head to your Profile and click the three-lined icon at the top right. Tap on Settings and privacy, head into Privacy, and select Stickers.
From here you can choose who can create stickers from your videos. By default, this setting is turned on to Everyone, as long as your account is public and at least 18 years old.
Before posting a video, you can also choose to turn on or off this setting. When on the Post screen, click on More options and find the Allow stickers option.
Adding and removing video stickers
After a video sticker has been uploaded to the store, you have the option to remove it. Head to your Profile and choose the Sticker store option. Select a sticker and choose Add to store.
To remove your sticker from the store, choose Hide from profile and store. With this option, you can still send your stickers in direct messages, but they won’t be visible on your public profile.
If you want to completely delete the video sticker from the store, tap Delete inside the Sticker store and this will be deleted, but can still be visible in current chats.
TikTok Stickers are a way to share your content in a more interactive way, encouraging more users to engage with your profile and content.
