It’s important that you respond to all comments. It is a way for your followers to take into account that you pay attention to them and that they are part of a community. 

How to respond to comments on TikTok

As we have told you before, it is important to respond to all the comments of your TikTok videos, whether positive or negative. 

Responding to positive comments shows you are grateful for supporting comments that a user leaves you. Negative comments, on the other hand, should be responded to to show your community that you don’t hide from criticism and stay professional as a brand. 

With that said, how can you respond to TikTok comments? You can do it from the app directly or from Metricool.

• Connect your TikTok account: settings > connections > TikTok. 
• Go to the Inbox section at the top menu. 
• Check the TikTok option and filter by comments. Here you will see all the messages you have received. Open the conversation to respond to the comment and when you finish, mark it as resolved. 

Respond to comments from TikTok 

When you receive a new comment on a video you uploaded to TikTok, you will receive a notification. From there, you can access the comment in question or go to any of your videos and click on the comment icon on the right side of the screen. 

To respond to a comment: 

• Click notifications or the comments icon for each video.
• Select the comment you want to reply to. 
• Write the reply text and click the red arrow on the right. 
• If you want to mention the account, you just have to tag a username using @. 

It’s as easy as that! Now you can reply to all your comments. 

How to put a video in TikTok comments 

Do you want to reply to your comment with a video? This is a good choice of content if you are asked the same question frequently. You can create a video to answer the question, while posting a new TikTok to grow interactions. 

• Write the comment you want to respond to from notifications or from the video that includes it. 
• Click ‘Reply.’ 
• Instead of typing the answer, tap on the rec icon with a video camera on the left. 
• TikTok takes you directly to the recording screen with the comment superimposed on the image. 

Now you have a new TikTok ready to record!

TikTok comment settings

 TikTok keeps by default the setting of receiving comments from any user, but you can modify it to your liking. 

• All users (only on accounts that are public): Any TikTok user can comment on your videos.
• Followers (private accounts only): Only users who follow your account can leave comments. 
• Friends: Users who you follow and follow you, will be able to leave a comment on your videos. 

Remember, you can turn comments on and off for all your videos. 

Or, if you prefer, you can turn them on or off when uploading a TikTok on the last screen before sharing your video. 

Hide TikTok comments

Want to know how to hide comments and responses to your videos? 

Actually, TikTok does not have a hide comment button, but offers you the option to filter comments in various ways to hide them automatically. 

To filter these comments:

• Go to your TikTok Profile and click on the three horizontal lines icon at the top right. 
• Click on Settings and Privacy > Privacy > Comments. 

Now you have three options:

1. If you want to filter all comments, under Comment filters, click to the right of Filter all comments. 
2. If you want to filter offensive or SPAM comments, click on Filter SPAM and offensive comments. 
3. If you want to filter by keywords, go to Filter by keywords and turn on this option, remember to type the keywords you want to filter. 

With these options, all comments will be hidden, unless you approve them manually. 

How to find my TikTok comments 

At the moment, there is no TikTok section to directly see all the comments you have left on the videos. But, there is a way to find your TikTok comments.

One of the ways to see the comment you’ve written is to have it in a video you’ve liked. As you know, TikTok has a section within your profile with all the videos you’ve liked. That is, if you liked a video and commented on it, you can find the comment. 

This method, as you can see, is not 100% effective to see your comments. In order to see these comments, you have to have liked the video before. But, it is true that it can help you. 

Pin a comment on TikTok

Do you want to pin a comment for it to stay at the top of the comments section? 

This is a useful option if you want to leave an anchored response, or even a comment from a user that you find interesting for the rest of tiktokers. 

• Enter the TikTok video where the comment is you want to pin. 
• Select the comment and touch and hold the screen. 
• TikTok shows you several options: choose the ‘Pin comment’ one. 
• To remove it from the start, follow the same steps: instead of having this option you will see ‘Unpin comment.’ 

How to delete a comment on TikTok

If there’s a comment that you think might be offensive, you have the option to remove it from your TikTok video. 

• Go to the comment you want to delete. 
• Touch and hold the screen above the comment. 
• TikTok shows you several options. Tap on ‘Delete.’ 

So, you can delete comments on TIkTok, if you think it disrespects your community, if you aren’t able to filter it, etc. Delete your comment and you’re done!
